I am an
American Yoga Alliance Certified and
Israeli Yoga Teachers Association
Certified yoga instructor. I received my certification from
YogaWorks at the
Yoga Works Teacher Training Course in California.
Having grown up in North America and spending most of my adult life in Israel and
extensive world travel, my yoga is a blend of my Israeli and North American sides;
my dynamic, action-seeking and structure-oriented side combined with my calm, serene,
free, and spiritual side.
I specialize in the more dynamic styles of yoga - Ashtanga (Ashtanga Vinyasa) with its more
rigid set of specific sequences and Vinyasa Flow being a more “freestyle” type of
yoga in terms of its sequences. (For detailed explanation of these yoga styles go
to the classes section).
The unique energy of each class determines the type of practice, since yoga is the
union between body, mind and soul; thus every practice and every class is different.
This is the beauty of yoga!
Being a BSc and MBA graduate, my professional career entails over 15 years of
marketing experience in Israel’s leading consumer goods and services industries,
working both in the national and international markets. Since early childhood and
throughout my adult life, I have always been curious to see new places and cultures
and have traveled extensively throughout the world. Sports have always been an
integral part of my life and I have always found time to make physical activity a
part of my daily routine.
I have always been curious to learn more about the inner self and throughout the years
participated in various types of workshops and experiences and had always been in search
of my inner peace.
My yoga journey began in 2004 at the Tel-Aviv University Sports Center where I
had been a member for many years. It was “love at first sight” and I immediately
connected to this incredible world that unites body and soul in perfect harmony.
I wanted to learn more and began to practice yoga privately for a year and
immediately felt how yoga was transforming my life. I became much calmer and began
to find my inner peace. Deep down I knew that I had touched “home” and found my
calling and would be teaching yoga in the future. Within a year I began to practice
daily at Tel-Aviv’s leading yoga studios where I was discovered a whole new world
and was exposed to many types of yoga styles and teachers. Yoga became a way of life.
During these years I participated in numerous workshops with both Israel’s top yoga
teachers and teachers from abroad; Mark Whitwell, Sandra Sabatini, Tias Little,
Shimon Ben Avi, Zipi Negev, Dudi Malcha, Reem Reuveni and others.
In February 2008, I was fortunate to be able to realize a lifelong dream and relocated to
California for six months and was given the opportunity to examine where my true home is.
During my stay in California I practiced yoga daily at
YogaWorks (California’s
leading yoga studio with branches throughout the U.S.) and studied with very
experienced and well known teachers, some of who studied with Shiva Rae, Pattabhi
Jois, David Swenson, Srivatsa Ramaswami and Tim Miller.
My stay in California was filled with many wonderful experiences, all of which
contributed to my personal growth. The highlight for me was being able to fulfill
another dream and successfully completing the Yoga Works Teacher’s Training Course
(that is Yoga Alliance Registered and certified by the Israeli Yoga Teachers
Association).
During the course I came to the realization that it doesn’t matter geographically
where you are in the world, what matters is who you are and what you radiate to the
world! I also realized that Israel is my home and that is where my heart is and
decided to return to Israel and come home.
Yoga has led me to my inner peace and contentment. It has taught me to live and
enjoy the present moment, to accept and love myself for who I am, without judgment
and criticism, and most importantly, to flow with life and enjoy life’s precious
magical moments since these brief moments are the ones that put a smile on our
face and make us happy.
At present I am moving forward with my dream and am teaching yoga so that I may
share yoga’s wonderful gifts with others.
Namaste and lots of love!
